Employers & Career Coaches

What is Inspire Northward?

Inspire Northward is an online platform that provides a direct interface between students and local businesses. By integrating career development tools, social media elements, and workforce data into a seamless system, businesses, students, educators and parents can connect efficiently and effectively. Through Inspire Northward’s online platform, employers can engage with students via online discussion boards and also coordinate company tours, career fairs, and a variety of other experiences. Inspire is integrated with Career Cruising, a career assessment and planning software, being used statewide by K-12 school districts as a part of the Academic and Career Planning. Through Inspire, students can explore and learn about businesses and career opportunities available locally.

What does it cost?

For the safety of the students who are using Inspire, it is required that anyone on the platform must pass a background check prior to getting access. To participate in Inspire Northward, businesses or community members participating the platform will be charged a nominal fee of $5.00 per background check. If you would like to learn more about Inspire Northward's background check policy, the full policy can be viewed here.

How Can I get involved?

The first step for businesses is to begin by completing our Company Profile registration form. From there, Inspire Northward staff will build your company a custom profile and show you how to manage your account to customize your involvement! From there, businesses can choose to have their staff participate as Career Coaches and engage with students through online discussion boards or offer Work-Based Learning Opportunities to students and school districts. Businesses have the option of selecting from Inspire Northward’s menu of activities or they can create their own.

What if I'm not affiliated with a business? Can I still be involved?

Community members are welcome to participate in the platform as a "Career Coach". A Career Coach is a person from the community who is volunteering to provide general career guidance for career areas where they have expertise. By being a Career Coach, you will be able to interact with students through discussion boards where students can ask questions and Career Coaches can offer their experience, insights and ideas.
