Inspire Northward is a community-development platform that provides a way to build strong ties between the region's employers and the workforce of tomorrow. By integrating career development tools, social media elements and workforce data into a seamless system, job creators, students, educators, and parents can connect efficiently and effectively. In an initiative aimed at addressing Wisconsin’s workforce development needs, all nine of the state’s regional economic development organizations are teaming up to develop a statewide platform that directly connects local employers to students. This effort is in conjunction with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction’s (DPI’s) Academic and Career Planning initiative.
Northwest Wisconsin Workforce Investment Board (NWWIB) and Visions Northwest, with support from Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), DPI, and many of our local and regional partners will expand the use of this tool in Northwest Wisconsin. Inspire Northward will connect area businesses to their future talent pool through online profiles, virtual career coaches, and work-based learning activities for high school students and educators. Inspire Northward will be used to increase engagement between businesses and students in several ways, including interactive messaging with local professionals, job shadowing, interviewing opportunities and internships.
Deployment efforts are in the beginning stages. Learn more about Inspire Northward by exploring our website!
